Hot Kareena

Kareena Kapoor was born to Sindhi-speaking Babita (nee Shivdasani) and Punjabi-speaking Randhir Kapoor on September 21, 1977 in Bombay, India. She has an elder sister, Karisma Kapoor. Kareena is born in a family that have been actors for generations, including her paternal great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor; her grandfather, Raj Kapoor; her paternal uncles, Shammi, Shashi, Rishi, and Rajiv; as well as aunt, Neetu Singh, & Jennifer Kendall, the wives of Rishi and Shashi respectively. On her maternal side, her grandfather, Hari Shivdasani, and aunt, Sadhana, have been actors in their own rights.

As a child, Kareena Kapoor studied in Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Bombay, and thereafter was enrolled in Dehra Dun's prestigious Welham Girls' Boarding School. Her dad, Randhir is very protective towards his daughters and wanted both of them to keep away from acting, get married, and settle down, as per the Kapoor family tradition. This led to irreconcilable differences between her parents, ultimately leading to a divorce, with both sisters leaving their dad to live with their mom.

Kareena Kapoor film debut was in the year 2000 with 'Refugee' along with the debut of Amitabh Bachchan's son, AbhishekBachchan. She went on to appear in many more Hindi movies, and has thus far won four awards for her performances in 'Refugee', 'Chameli', 'Dev', and 'Omkara'. Kareena is today one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood.

Kareena Kapoor won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award in the year 2008 for the film 'Jab We Met'. She dated actor Shahid Kapur for three years but had a break up. Currently actress is seeing actor Saif Ali Khan.

Don 2 Movie Review

Bollywood film Don 2, which marks the comeback of Farhan Akhtar to direction and Shahrukh Khan in the villain role, has received mixed reviews from film critics. Most of the critics have liked the Shahrukh Khan's dazzling action, Jason West's wonderful camera work, stunning visuals, stylish narration, witty dialogues, spectacular locations. But many of them have given thumbs down to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music for the movie, which has got an average rating of 3.25 out of 5. Here are excerpts from a few reviews.

Koimoi - Komal Nahta: 4.5
Don 2 may not give the discerning audience a great high but it will be loved by those who like style, intrigue, suspense and attitude. It will score at the box-office and yield good profits to Reliance Entertainment (worldwide distributors). The producers, of course, have already made a huge profit by selling the worldwide rights and also by getting heavy subsidy from the German government. Business in big cities and multiplexes will be far better than in smaller towns and single-screen cinemas. The film will work wonders in the Overseas circuit.

Times Of India - Nikhat Kazmi: 4
Don 2 is a classic action/crime thriller that doesn't let go, even for a moment. More importantly, the plot has been finely crafted, with every twist and turn falling into place like a complicated albeit neat little jigsaw.

Bollywood Hungama - Taran Adarsh: 3.5
DON 2 rides on star power and brand value. The film has a bland first hour, but the second half takes the film to another level. There's no denying that a cohesive script would've made a world of a difference to the film, but the tremendous hype, star power and the lucrative period [Christmas and New Year celebrations] will make its investors reap a harvest.

Oneindia: 3.5
Don 2 is a perfect entertainment package for this Christmas. After Ra.One, this movie holds a mirror to changing trends in Indian cinema. Don't miss to watch SRK's dazzling stunts.

DNA India - Aniruddha Guha: 3
Characters say boring, random things to each other, there’s a pointlessly long dance sequence and the attempt at dialoguebaazi is laughable. What keeps Don 2 alive, then, is its pulsating action.

India Today - Kaveree Bamzai: 3
The movie seems to have been made only to allow the actor to say and do all the things he ever wanted, be it a James Bond and Ethan Hunt rolled into one. What it does come across as finally is a Mission Impossible meets Abbas Mustan.

IBN Live - Rajeev Masand: 2.5
Don 2 is nicely shot, and there are moments where Shah Rukh Khan is riveting. But that's not enough to hold your interest for well over two hours...even the actor's most loyal fans will find themselves yawning. I'm going with a generous two out of five for director Farhan Akhtar's Don 2. Although packed with fast cars and bikes, this is one slow ride.

Rediff - Aseem Chhabra: 2.5
For an action film with the central plot setting us up for a robbery inside a major bank, Don 2's pacing is very slow.

Indian Express - Shubhra Gupta: 2.5
Don 2 needed an energized, crackling plot. What it has, in almost too much abundance, is SRK dripping dimpled coolth. But cool can only take you so far.

Glamsham - Martin D'Souza: 1.5
It is a huge blow because this is not something that you expect from a Farhan Akhtar. DON 2 is as bad as the recent duds like SHAKAL PE MAT JA, BE-CAREFUL, and MILEY NAA MILEY HUM, to name a few.

Hindustan Times - Mayank Shekhar: 1.5
It was Vijay’s story. Salim-Javed’s tight script had a striking plot. The writers here have sub-plots. They continue to stretch and add thought to thought. The picture promises to never end. It gets hard to carry on with inane inventiveness, when you just couldn't care less.

The New Sensation - " Why This Kolaveri di "

It needs no introduction on how the Tamil song 'Why this Kolaveri Di...' has caused a sensation throughout the nation and also in the NRI circuit. While many are talking about Dhanush as the highlight, the real hero of the song is someone else. His name is Anirudh.

This twenty something youngster happens to be the person, composed the song in just five minutes. He is also the distant relative of superstar Rajinikanth. Now, it is heard that Anirudh is in a real tight spot. The reason for that is, he is being pulled by producers and directors from different cine circuits.

Sources say Anirudh went to Mumbai recently for the re-recording of the film '3' and he was flooded by the producers in Bollywood ready to give advance amounts without a second thought. Anirudh from his end has reportedly not lost his balance and is in talks with them all. Let us see what his next project will be.

The actor has also written the Tamil-English song. The video sees him recording it in a studio while Anirudh, Aishwarya and co-star Shruti Haasan look on. Ask him to describe the feeling and he says, “I’m numb. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I didn’t expect in my wildest dreams that the song would become so popular. Now expectations are high, so I want to focus on making the rest of the album just as good.
Prod him on the lighter side of his newfound fame and he laughs, “I’ve been getting proposals on Facebook and Twitter. A friend in Mumbai told me his gay friend has a crush on me! I was silent for a minute, and then I said I’d clarify that I’m straight in my next interview!”

Anirudh also accepts that it’s the bizarre lyrics that have made the song big: “If it was in Tamil, it wouldn’t have been a rage. We used the concept of broken English; the way a man, who doesn’t know the language, would sing, using very colloquial terms.”

Bollywood must definitely have shown some interest? “Yes, I have an offer, but I don’t want to disclose it right now,” he says. “There are others too. But my debut album is my baby and I want to give it my best, and then look forward to everything else.”

Anirudh Ravichander
